Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	BREAK POINT (G Lerena) jumped inwards and PENDRAGON (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b)	BIG FIVE (P Strydom), CAPTAIN THRONE (J R Syster) and GIMME A DIAMOND (*P Mxoli) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	As the start was effected, BREAK POINT (G Lerena) jumped awkwardly inwards, made contact with the right front gate and thereafter brushed BIG FIVE (P Strydom) inwards leaving the stalls. 
b)	THAT'S A FACT (K Matsunyane) which raced fitted with blinkers for the first time, proved difficult to settle in the early stages.    
c)	Leaving the 300m, BIG FIVE (P Strydom) was switched out to continue its run.  Thereafter at the 150m, PENDRAGON (R Munger) shied away from BIG FIVE (P Strydom) which rolled outwards and was immediately straightened.
d)	GOING GLOBAL (D R Lerena) compounded from the 250m.
e)	KENTALLEN BAY (M van Rensburg) which raced green, shifted in sharply at the 100m.
f)	Jockey K Matsunyane (THAT'S A FACT) and Jockey M Yeni (POOLE HARBOUR) reported that their respective mounts made abnormal respiratory noises in running.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses.
g)	In view of the performance of BREAK POINT (G Lerena), (betting 5/4, distance 10,25 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables.
h)	NEVER TO CLEVER (J P van der Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer E Verdonese advised (DR).

JOCKEY CHANGES:

a)	BIG FIVE was ridden by Jockey P Strydom. 

RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:

a)	THAT'S A FACT raced equipped with blinkers (declared 26 July 2022 at 07H36).

THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:

a)	THAT'S A FACT abnormal respiratory noise.
