THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JAQUAR CAT (E Webber) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. b) UNDISCLOSED (*P Mxoli), THE CARPENTER (S Khathi) and TEVYE (M van Rensburg) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TRAVEL MASTER (S Khumalo) was checked at the start by the course veterinary surgeon and passed suitable to race. b) JAQUAR CAT (E Webber) was hanging in from the 200m. c) Apprentice P Mxoli reported that UNDISCLOSED did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey M Mjoka reported that he felt something amiss with THE SANDS. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) THE SANDS (M Mjoka) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis) f) VEGAS GOLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
