Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	WHITE CEDAR (J P v'd Merwe) broke through the front gates and cantered to the 1000m. This gelding was restrained by the rider, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and was reloaded.
b)	GET CARTER (C Habib) and JUST AS RICH (*M Katjedi) were slow into stride. 
c)	HIGH VELOCITY (S Moodley) lost one length.  
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	JUST AS RICH (*M Katjedi) raced wide throughout. 
b)	In the concluding stages, OH MY WORD ITS ROY (K Matsunyane) and QUEST FOR THE BEST (A Mgudlwa) came together and brushed on at least 3 occasions. 
c)	WHITE CEDAR (J P v'd Merwe) was hanging out in the concluding stages. 
d)	Apprentice G Pieterse reported that he felt something amiss with WHAT A BLAST in the running and as a result he did not persevere with his mount from the 200m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
e)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to WHITE CEDAR (J P v'd Merwe), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion.  Suspension dates: 01.09.22 to the 07.09.22.  WHITE CEDAR may not be presented for re-passing during this period.  Trainer G Rich was advised. (SL)
f)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning WHAT A BLAST, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer D Bosch was advised. (Suspension Dates : 01 September to the 30 October 2022, bdi) 
g)	COUNT MARSH (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Hill  advised (NS).
