THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SWIFT ACTION (M Yeni) was slow into stride. b) BIRDIE AND BOGIE (C Orffer) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the 30-minute interval between races. b) Approaching the 150m BIRDIE AND BOGIE (C Orffer) had to be steadied away from the heels of a tiring PERSISTANCE (C Zackey). c) THE HEAT IS ON (G Behr) took an awkward stride approaching the 100m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) SUPERIOR LEADER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
