THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STORMY LASS (R Simons) was restless in the stalls. b) THE CAMBO (*P Mxoli) reared in the stalls. c) SKY GLITTER (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. d) IN THE ETHER (N Klink) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, BABY DONT HURT ME (M Yeni) was squeezed out between ROSE VELVET (K de Melo) and SKY GLITTER (K Matsunyane), which jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls. b) Shortly after the start, SONG OF LIBERTY (*J Solomons) and MERCER GIRL (*S Sosibo) were bumped outward by IN THE ETHER (N Klink), which jumped awkwardly outwards leaving the stalls, resulting in IN THE ETHER (N Klink) becoming unbalanced. c) At approximately the 800m, ROSE VELVET (K de Melo) was steadied momentarily to avoid the heels of BABY DONT HURT ME (M Yeni), which rolled in and was immediately corrected. d) TRUST THE FIRE (G Lerena) hung in from the 300m. e) TRUST THE FIRE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L J Human advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MERCER GIRL: Apprentice S Sosibo weighed out at 49,5kg, 1,5kg over the carded weight of which 1kg was declared.
