THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	I'M A MAN (S Mbhele) and DOUBLING UP (R Fourie) were reluctant to load.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	FLUID MOTION (JP van der Merwe) got its head up and proved difficult to restrain during the canter past. The veterinary surgeon examined the filly on her arrival at the start and declared her suitable to race.
b)	On arriving at the start Jockey S Khumalo expressed concern with SLURRICANE's action during the canter past. SLURRICANE (S Khumalo) was examined by the course veterinary surgeon and declared suitable to race, causing a delay.
c)	FLUID MOTION (JP van der Merwe)  proved difficult to settle in the early stages, raced to the front of the field and tired quickly from the 350m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d)	SUDDEN SONG (C Orffer) was steadied and took an awkward stride at the 550m when racing tight between the inside running rail and HERO'S DESTINY (D de Gouveia). Thereafter SUDDEN SONG (C Orffer)  was hanging out from the 300m and proved difficult to assist in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	HERO'S DESTINY (D de Gouveia) was hanging out on the bend.
f)	SLURRICANE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised. (JF)
