THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JET CAPTAIN (M Mjoka) and STATE OF MIND (C Bantam) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages NOTORIX (W Agrella) was carried out marginally by SOWETO ROSE (T Gould), which rolled out. b) In view of the performance of LEDELL'S ECHO (J Mphanya), which raced to the front of the field in the early stages and tired quickly in the straight, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey X Ndlovu reported that KINGSTON ROCK changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) SOWETO ROSE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised.
