Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CONTIGUOUS (C Orffer) was fractious, refused to load and was withdrawn, causing a delay. b) LONGSHANKS (G Wright) was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly and thereafter was slow into stride. c) PEGASUS PEAK (M Yeni) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Due to the late scratching of CONTIGUOUS (M Yeni) (Betting 5/2) the Stewards delayed the start of this race to allow the betting public to restructure their bets. b) LONGSHANKS (G Wright) raced without cover in the early stages and, as a consequence, proved difficult to settle. c) Approaching the 1000m LAST STORM (C Habib) raced onto the heels of PEGASUS PEAK (M Yeni) and had to be steadied. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that PEGASUS PEAK was blowing post-race. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) In view of the report from the starter regarding CONTIGUOUS (C Orffer), this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion on a race day. Suspension dates: 06/10/2022 to 12/10/2022 inclusive). CONTIGUOUS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) FUTURE SWING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
