THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	MERCURIAL JET (+A Gwadiso) was nervous in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths.
b)	TEXAS TORNADO (+E Thuthu) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride.
c)	ANTONIA AUGUSTA (+M Sambu) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
d)	WONDER WOMAN (+A Kaspile) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Approaching the 50m RACINANTE (+N Mpotye) was steadied when close to the heels of GLITTERFOX (+Z Matwa), which shifted in.
b)	Work Rider A Gwadiso reported that MERCURIAL JET changed stride awkwardly on two occasions leaving the 50m and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 
c)	BAVARIAN JET ducked in sharply shortly before the finish when Work Rider S Liyaba made a celebratory gesture. 
d)	Work Rider S Liyaba was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.10 in that, whilst riding BAVARIAN JET, he saluted in a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line. Work Rider S Liyaba signed an admission of guilt and was suspended for 1 (one) Work Rider's race.
e)	BAVARIAN JET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
