Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	After being restless in the stalls, Jockey M Yeni (FUTURE SWING) expressed concern that his saddle may have slipped. FUTURE SWING (M Yeni) was taken out, the saddle was examined and found to be in order and FUTURE SWING (M Yeni) was reloaded, causing a delay.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	WECANGOALLNIGHT (G Lerena) raced wide on the bend and into the straight.
b)	Approaching the 100m, while attempting a narrow run between PAS DE NOM (K de Melo) and GLOBAL ALLY (L Mxothwa) SUGAR MOUNTAIN (A Domeyer), which was continually held up for a clear run in the straight, was accidentally struck on the head by Jockey L Mxothwa's (GLOBAL ALLY) crop. As a consequence, SUGAR MOUNTAIN (A Domeyer) shifted out and had to be steadied away from the heels of PAS DE NOM (K de Melo). 
c)	Jockey J Jacobs reported that he felt something amiss with DARJEELING and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	DARJEELING (J Jacobs) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt)
e)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding FUTURE SWING (M Yeni), Trainer SJ Snaith will be advised to have this colt re-schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
f)	PAS DE NOM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DM Kannemeyer was advised. (SC)
