THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	AFRICAN DUSK (A Arries) was restless in the stalls and thereafter was slow losing one length. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	PONGOLA (*R Venniker) was hanging out from the 300m. 
b)	Jockey T Godden reported that MIRACULOUS MAN made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
c)	 In view of the performances of AFRICAN DUSK (A Arries) (4.30 lengths, 9/4 in the betting) and MENELAUS (R Fourie) (5.00 lengths, 2/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
d)	Trainer Gareth van Zyl signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate NATYAM against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed.
