THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FORT APACHE (M Yeni) jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, WIND WATER (K de Melo) was unbalanced when bumped by BLYDE RIVER (D De Gouveia), which in turn was brushed out by BOWL FIRST (J Greyling), after being bumped out by FORT APACHE (M Yeni), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) Approaching the 800m, BLYDE RIVER (D De Gouveia) was steadied and directed outwards in avoiding the heels of WIND WATER (K de Melo). c) COVERT OPERATOR (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
