THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1400m, PROSPER'S GIFT (C Maujean) and TRIDENT KING (M Yeni) had to steady momentarily when tightened for galloping room on the inside of MCEBISI (M van Rensburg), which commenced to hang in and was straightened. b) TIRPITZ (K Matsunyane) hung in from the 300m. c) WEST COAST LOVER (F Herholdt) hung in from the 300m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) ASIYE PHAMBILI (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) WEST COAST LOVER examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) TIRPITZ fatigued. c) PROSPER'S GIFT scalp wound right hind.
