THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	HAN SOLO (S Khumalo) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, MASTER REDOUTE cast its right front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay.
b)	BLACK THORN (G Lerena) raced with its head up and proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
c)	Jockey R Munger reported that he felt something amiss with MASTER REDOUTE. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	In view of the performance of NAVY STRENGTH (K Matsunyane) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	CROME YELLOW, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised. (SC)
