a)	As the start was effected, TILLIEANGUS (J Greyling) was squeezed out between BACK TO BASICS (N Klink) and RATTLE BAG (R Munger), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b) 	Shortly after the start, DEFENDER OF RIGHTS (R Simons) and TREATY (*M K Katjedi) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between WRITTEN IN STONE (*D B Geerthsen) and PINCH HIT (G Lerena), which was carried in by METEORIC (G Pieterse), which rolled in.
c)	PINCH HIT (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
