THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROBERT BURNS (K Matsunyane) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) IRONTAIL (M van Rensburg), PARKER GETRIX (J Penny) and EARL OF CARDIGAN (*M K Katjedi) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages, SAVE THE QUEEN (C Habib) was brushed out marginally by KWAZZI'S LADY (R Simons), which shifted out away from the crop and was corrected. b) Jockey R Munger reported that FOG BANK did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) SAVE THE QUEEN (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee B Mngeni, acting on behalf of Trainer A G Laird, was advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SAVE THE QUEEN was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 17 January 2023 at 15H37). b) AFTER HOURS was ridden by Jockey G Pieterse (declared 17 January 2023 at 16H25).
