THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SON OF RAJ (Wes Marwing) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1600m, Jockey M van Rensburg lost the footing to his left-side stirrup iron and was dislodged from DUKE OF RAIN. ROMEO'S MAGIC (*K A Brewer), LAST CHEER (R Munger) and FOLLOW MY PATH (C Maujean) had to take evasive action to avoid the fallen rider. Jockey M van Rensburg was attended to by the Course Medical Staff and taken to the medical centre for further observation. Jockey M van Rensburg was transferred to hospital for X-rays. Rule 25.12 applies. Jockey M van Rensburg's equipment was examined and found to be in good working order. b) Jockey M Yeni reported that DEVILISH DANCER took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) SON OF RAJ (Wes Marwing), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W H Marwing advised (MS).
