THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Jockey T Godden signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse MANHATTEN CAFE more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey T Godden struck the horse MANHATTEN CAFE, the manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed.
b)	Jockey K de Melo signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse CAMORA more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey K de Melo struck the horse CAMORA, the manner in which he used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed.
c)	CAMORA (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting on behalf of Trainer A J Rivalland advised (DZ).
