THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SMORGASBORD (G Lerena) reared in the stalls. b) VAL D'ORCIA (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 500m, ALULA'S STAR (*P Mxoli) was unbalanced when it was bumped on both sides by VASEEM (R Simons) and DANILO DANILOVITCH (*R A Venniker) which was carried out slightly by KARANGETANG (K de Melo) which rolled out. The Stewards determined that it could not hold any individual Rider responsible for this incident and took no further action. b) VAL D'ORCIA (K Matsunyane) hung in in the concluding stages. c) Jockey C Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with CONSTABLE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) ROLLWITHTHEPUNCHES (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Magner advised (MS). e) FAR AWAY WINTER (M Yeni), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (SM). f) BIG BURN (R Fourie), placed third, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (DD). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
