Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	DAMMI (X Ndlovu) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After the running of Race 7, certain riders raised concerns about an area on the racecourse at the 1400m. After some deliberation, it was agreed that all riders would race approximately two horse-widths off the inside running rail so as to avoid the area complained of. Jockey R Simons (ALADO'S PRIDE) was still of the opinion that the track was unsafe and sought permission from the Stewards not to ride in Race 8. After careful consideration, the Stewards acceded to Jockey R Simons request. As there was no other rider available, ALADO'S PRIDE was withdrawn by the Stewards.
b)	The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race and the consultation with the Jockeys.
c)	At the 400m IRISH RAIN (*RA Venniker) raced onto and clipped the heels of ADMIRALS CHANCE (D de Gouveia), which had come to the end of its run and rolled out marginally. As a consequence, IRISH RAIN (*RA Venniker) lost momentum and had to be directed outwards to continue its run.
d)	Jockey A Domeyer reported that ALINGALONGA took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	WAITING FOR SUMMER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. (LM)
