THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 200m, PROFESSOR SNAPE (R Fourie) was baulked for a clear run until the 100m and thereafter was switched out to obtain a clear run. b) In the concluding stages TEICHMAN (K Matsunyane) which had come to the end of its run, was awkwardly placed on the heels of RELEASE ME (*S Hlengwa) which shifted out away from the crop. c) In view of the performance of JAZZ FESTIVAL (*R A Venniker) (13.65 lengths, 16/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) GOLDEN PEACE (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
