Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MARY LAMB (R Fourie) jumped awkwardly inwards and then was bumped on the hindquarters by HIERKOMMIEBOKKIE (G van Niekerk), which was carried out by PHILOSOPHISE (C Zackey), which was bumped outwards by NIPPY WINTER (D Ashby), which jumped awkwardly outwards. As a consequence, PHILOSOPHISE (C Zackey) was squeezed out leaving the stalls. b) CALL IT FATE (D de Gouveia) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 200m ISLAND TREASURE (A Andrews) had to be steadied and switched outwards away from the heels of PERFECT TRUST (JP van der Merwe) when carried outwards by COPPER VIEW (L Mxothwa), which shifted out marginally. b) Jockey JP van der Merwe (PERFECT TRUST) was unable to ride to the finish when awkwardly placed between COPPER VIEW (L Mxothwa) and ISLAND TREASURE (A Andrews), both of which shifted ground marginally in the concluding stages. c) Jockey D Ashby reported that NIPPY WINTER did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) HIERKOMMIEBOKKIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix was advised.
