Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TSAR BOMBA (K de Melo) and FATEFUL DAY (A Mgudlwa) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) RUNNING RIFLES (K Matsunyane) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, TSAR BOMBA (K de Melo) was unbalanced and had its hindquarters turned out when bumped by SPIN DOCTOR (*K A Brewer), which in turn was awkwardly placed between RUNNING RIFLES (K Matsunyane) and TSAR BOMBA (K de Melo), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls b) In the concluding stages, FAST LOVE (G Lerena) was carried in by CABINET SHUFFLE (G Pieterse), which hung in from the 400m. c) TSAR BOMBA (K de Melo) hung in badly in the concluding stages. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) RUNNING RIFLES (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) HOME OF THE BRAVE: Jockey R Munger weighed out at 52,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) TSAR BOMBA not striding out right hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
