Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) There was an electrical fault with the starting stalls, causing a delay. b) Shortly after the start SUNDROP (M Thackeray) ducked outwards sharply, refused to gallop and thereafter took no part. This filly is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.5 and until such time as she proves tractable to jump and gallop with a companion on a race day to the satisfaction of the Stewards. c) ANTONIA AUGUSTA (X Ndlovu) and TEXAS TORNADO (C Maujean) brushed at the 200m when both horses shifted ground marginally. d) Jockey S Khumalo reported that BRAZILIAN STORM gave ground quickly to the field from the 600m and he did not persevere with his riding in the straight. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of AFRODITE (R Fourie) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) SALIENT POINT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis Trainer GD Smith was advised.
