THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VENUS DE MILO (D Ashby) and CLOUD CHASER (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the turn at the 1100m CRUIZIN CALIFORNIA (O Noach) had to be checked away from the heels of METAR (L Mxothwa), which brushed the inside running rail and hesitated. b) At the finish PERILLA (A Domeyer) was awkwardly placed on the inside of ISLAND TREASURE (A Andrews), which shifted in away from the crop. Jockey A Andrews appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances. c) PERFECT TRUST, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
