Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PAPER TRAIL (J Jacobs) stood in the stalls as the start was effected, losing five lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SILENT TRIGGER (A Domeyer) refused to proceed to the start, returned to the parade ring and was withdrawn, causing a delay. Jockey A Domeyer reported that SILENT TRIGGER coughed. This gelding is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 and until such time as he proves tractable proceeding to the start with a companion on a race day. b) KEEP SHINING (A Andrews), which pulled hard in the early stages, was continually held up for a clear run in the straight. c) In view of the report from the starter regarding PAPER TRAIL (J Jacobs), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 11/05/2023 to 17/05/2023 inclusive). PAPER TRAIL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. d) WORLD'S BEST, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D McLachlan was advised.
