THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BEE IN MY BONNET (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing one length. b) THEN IN FOCUS (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Steady rain continued to fall between Races 3 and 4 and during the running of this race. b) Leaving the 200m Jockey X Ndlovu's (SECRET IS OURS) right foot slipped out of the stirrup iron, resulting in him being dislodged. HUMBLE TUNE (*S Sisobo), which was following, had to be steadied to avoid the fallen rider. c) In view of the performance of NARCOS (D Schwarz) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) BRENDEN JAMES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
