THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	A fair start.
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Shortly after the start EL DRAQUE (A Arries) and MAGICAL STONES (K Matsunyane) were carried out by EXCALIBUR CALLS (S Khumalo) which jumped outwards.
b)	Shortly after the start DOWN BY THE RIVER (G Lerena) was brushed out by KUMEMORI (S Moodley) which jumped outwards.
c)	At approximately the 600m TURBO BOOST (T Godden) which rolled out, had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of ONE IRISH ROVER (N Patel). As a consequence of this, KUMEMORI (S Moodley) had to shift out to avoid running onto the heels of TURBO BOOST (T Godden).
d)	Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with OLVERSTON and as a result did not persevere with his ride from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e)	Jockey A Mgudlwa signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 72.1.40 in that as the rider of RAFA'S BOY, he failed to follow a reasonable order given from a licensed official by wearing a branded cap not provided by the sponsor. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed.
f)	RAFA'S BOY (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) advised (DZ).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	OLVERSTON raced without blinkers (advised 13.05.23/07h49).
b)	FUTURE OF ENERGY raced without blinkers (advised 10.05.23/11h25).
