THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	ZABADAK (*S Hlengwa) kicked the back gates, removed and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, and subsequently withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
b)	FAIRFIELD (J P v'd Merwe) stood, losing 3 lengths. Trainer G S Kotzen was advised to re-school this filly (SL).

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	After being slow away FAIRFIELD (J P v'd Merwe) failed to find its stride and was detached from the field in the early stages and had to be ridden forward to make up the deficit.
b)	FUTURE OF ENERGY (*R A Venniker) commenced to over-race in the early and middle stages.
c)	GIVE US A SMILE (S Moodley) was difficult to settle in the early and middle stages when it raced wide on the turn, without cover.
d)	SIR WILLIAM (C Orffer) was hanging in from the 250m.
e)	Approaching the 100m MASTER JOSH (R Fourie) was brushed by DOWN BY THE RIVER (C Zackey) which shifted in away from the crop for a number of strides. Jockey C Zackey appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary measures to keep his mounts on a straight course.
f)	MISTER LINCOLN (C Maujean) was unbalanced when it took an awkward stride in the closing stages.
g)	GREEN WITH ENVY (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (HM).
