THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GENTLEMAN JOE (G van Niekerk) was slow into stride. b) FUTURISMO (K de Melo) and CAPTIVE MOON (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 450m NAVY STRENGTH (R Fourie) was held up for a clear run when tightened for galloping room between MEMORY LANE (K Steyn) and STEINBECK (S Khumalo) which rolled out slightly. b) GENTLEMAN JOE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
