THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	WHAT A BOLT (A Andrews) stood awkwardly in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	BONANZA (D Ashby), which was hanging in throughout, rolled in leaving the 400m and became unbalanced while being steadied away from the heels of TRANSACT (R Fourie). Thereafter BONANZA (D Ashby) continued to hang in, proved difficult to assist and gave ground to the field. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
b)	Jockey A Andrews reported WHAT A BOLT did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	DOUBLE CHARGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised. (TJ)
