Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	FATHER'S FROST (M Mjoka) was stubborn loading.
b)	SAFE RETURN (S Khumalo) was nervous in the stalls and stood awkwardly.
c)	SLINGS AND ARROWS (D Schwarz) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates.
d)	CAPTAIN MORISCO (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride.


THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At the 800m FATHER'S FROST (M Mjoka), which commenced to over race, rolled out and made contact with GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN (C Maujean).
b)	Y Ramzan (EUROPEAN SUMMER) dropped his crop at the 300m.	
c)	Approaching the 200m GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN (C Maujean) had to be checked away from the heels of FATHER'S FROST (M Mjoka), which shifted out without correction. As a consequence, INHERIT THE RAIN (S Khathi) was crowded for galloping room on the outside of GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN (C Maujean), which resulted in NAVAL SECRET (M van Rensburg), which was attempting a narrow run between INHERIT THE RAIN (S Khathi) and the outside running rail, having to check. Thereafter, NAVAL SECRET (M van Rensburg) was unable to secure clear running until the finish. 
d)	Jockey M Mjoka was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of FATHER'S FROST he 	failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN leaving the 200m. Jockey M 	Mjoka signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 	29/07/2023 to 04/08/2023, both dates inclusive)
e)	COOL WINTER (K Minnie) shifted out away from the crop and had to be straightened approaching the 200m.
f)	At the 150m INHERIT THE RAIN (S Khathi) was accidentally struck on the head by Jockey K Minnie's (COOL WINTER) crop.
g)	In view of the performance of SAFE RETURN (S Khumalo) (Betting 4/1 ; Distance 10.70 lengths) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
h)	Jockey R Fourie reported that WHATEVER NEXT did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
i)	GALLIC TRIBE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom 	was advised. (LM)
