Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DELPHI DANCER (S Khumalo) was stubborn loading. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Assistant Trainer S Paterson, acting on behalf of Trainer B H Stidolph, was advised (GT). b) SECRET RECIPE (*D B Geerthsen) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) QUEEN OF VERONA (J R Syster) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FLYING BROOMSTICK (J Gates) proved reluctant to proceed to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Trainer B B Ruiters was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) Jockey C Habib was dislodged from FOREVERINMYDREAMS in the pull-up area. c) Jockey M Yeni was dislodged from SPRINGER in the pull-up area, which thereafter bolted. This precluded Jockey M Yeni from weighing in. The Board, acting in terms of Rule 66.2, deemed his weight to be correct. d) In view of the performance of SHINE IN MEMPHIS (*S Sosibo), (distance 19,25 lengths, betting 7/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to DELPHI DANCER, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 28 July 2023 to 3 August 2023. DELPHI DANCER may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer S Paterson, acting on behalf of Trainer B H Stidolph, was advised. f) FOREVERINMYDREAMS (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SHINE IN MEMPHIS examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) SPRINGER mild post race distress. c) WHISTLEDOWN abnormal respiratory noise and blowing post race.
