b)	RYAN'S DREAM (G Lerena) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	BABY SHOOZ (C Habib), which proved difficult to settle in the early stages, raced wide and without cover around the turn and into the straight.
b)	AMERICAN STAR (A Mgudlwa) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. Thereafter, Jockey A Mgudlwa did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Jockey A Mgudlwa reported that he felt something amiss with this colt in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
	Trainer T Zackey was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of AMERICAN STAR on return to stables. 			
c)	CLIMATE CONTROL (*K A Brewer) hung in from the 200m. 
d)	Jockey	K Matsunyane reported that NOTHINGELSEMATTERS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
e)	CELTIC RUSH (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
