THE STARTER REPORTED A) GAILIEA was nervous in the stalls, slow away and lost 1 length. B) HELENCANUCOPE was slow away and lost 1 length. C) ROUTE SIXTY SIX was slow away and lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) The tongue tie on HELENCANUCOPE (K Minnie) came adrift during the running of this race, resulting on HELENCANUCOPE racing with her tongue over the bit. B) At approximately the 1100m, MEADOW BEAUTY (R Khathi) was steadied when momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of LIBERTARIAN (E Webber) which over-raced and proved difficult negotiating the turn. C) Shortly before the finish, ROYAL WELCOME (G Cheyne) which hung in from the 400m and A FOREIGN AFFAIR (M Yeni) which commenced to hang in from the 200m, came together and brushed on two occasions. D) The winner ABSOLUTELY FAB was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff acting on behalf of Trainer J V A Strydom advised (LM).
