Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	CLIFF TOP (R Fourie), SAFE RETURN (C Zackey) and SLIM JANNIE (S Khumalo) were nervous in the stalls and rushed the front gates.



THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	SAFE RETURN (C Zackey) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led riderless by a 	Handler, causing a delay. This gelding is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as 	he proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day.
b)	SLIM JANNIE (S Khumalo) proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
c)	At the 100m CAPTAIN MORISCO (C Maujean) had to be checked and made contact with the hindquarters of NAVAL SECRET (W Agrella) when carried outwards marginally by LEDELL'S ECHO (Y Ramzan), which rolled out and was immediately straightened. As a consequence, NAVAL SECRET (W Agrella) was turned inwards and was momentarily unbalanced. 
d)	In view of the performance of TRANSACT (S Naidoo) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	PRINCE OF FIRE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley 	was advised. (LM)
