THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	LEMON SCENT (C Habib) was stubborn to load.
b)	GREEN GALLANT (R Khathi) lost 2 lengths.
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	After being slow into stride JOSEPHINE'S PRIDE (R Fourie) was squeezed out between WILDSTYLE (K A Brewer) and TRITON (G Lerena) which jumped in leaving the starting stalls. Thereafter, JOSEPHINE'S PRIDE (R Fourie) commenced to over-race with an awkward head carriage and was allowed to improve and raced to the lead at the 1900m.
b)	REACH FORTHE STARS (S Khumalo) over-raced in the early and middle stages.  Thereafter Jockey S Khumalo reported that this gelding took no interest in the concluding stages. In view of this report the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
c)	THE GREEN GALLANT (R Khathi) raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight.
d)	EXCALIBUR CALLS (*T Mayhew) brushed the inside running rail at the 1300m.
e)	In view of the performances of LEMON SCENT (C Habib) (35.95 lengths, 40/1 in the betting) and REACH FORTHE STARS (S Khumalo) (22.65 lengths, 7/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f)	DANCE TO THE MUSIC (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (HM).
