THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THISISWHATITMEANS (R Fourie) was restless and difficult to load. Assistant Trainer V Beets acting on behalf of Trainer P B Muscutt was advised to re-school this gelding (SL). b) SEATTLE RIPPER (G Lerena) kicked the back gates. Removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. c) NORTHERN WARRIOR (*S Hlengwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly before entering the straight RUGGER BUGGER (S Khumalo) was brushed out by LICENCE TO THRILL (R Khathi) which rolled out despite the efforts of Jockey R Khathi (LICENCE TO THRILL) to hold his position. b) Approaching the 300m, LICENCE TO THRILL (R Khathi) rolled out and brushed HONSHU (S Veale) on two occasions. c) At the 300m HUNZA ROAD (C Habib) was steadied momentarily off the heels of SEATTLE RIPPER (G Lerena) which shifted out sharply for no apparent reason and was immediately corrected. d) THISISWHATITMEANS (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
