THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	On arriving at the start Jockey R Fourie expressed concern with CAITLYN'S BOY (R Fourie) action while proceeding to the start. The gelding was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, found to be not striding out behind and subsequently withdrawn.
b)	GLOBETONIC (Y Ramzan) fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing one length.
c)	QUEEN'S WOOD (J Jacobs) jumped slow, losing two lengths.


THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	On arriving at the start Jockey R Fourie expressed concern with CAITLYN'S BOY's (R Fourie) action while proceeding to the start. The gelding was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, found to be not striding out behind and was subsequently withdrawn. The Stipendiary Stewards delayed the start of this race to allow the betting public time to restructure their bets.
b)	Leaving the 800m GLOBETONIC (Y Ramzan) raced onto the heels of CAPTAIN CASANOVA (L Mxothwa) and had to be steadied.
c)	Jockeys C Habib and K Minnie, the riders of NOTORIX and WATCH TOWER respectively, reported that these geldings did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d)	CAPTAIN CASANOVA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee 	MP Cloete, acting on behalf of Trainer SB Kotzen, was advised. (LM)
