THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	VAR PARK (P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
b)	KING RAHUL (M van Rensburg) and TUSCAN GOLD (C Zackey) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c)	STORMY SEAS (J P van der Merwe) and ZIYASHA (R Fourie) were slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	As the start was effected, KING RAHUL (M van Rensburg), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, had its hindquarters turned inwards after making contact with HERE IS THE TIGER (C Habib), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b)	Shortly after the start, DARK TIDE (*M K Katjedi) was buffeted between VAR PARK (P Mxoli) and TUSCAN GOLD (C Zackey), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c)	ZIYASHA (R Fourie), which proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages, commenced to hang out from the 400m.
d)	In view of the performance of HERE IS THE TIGER (C Habib), (distance 8,35 lengths, betting 3/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	In view of the performance of STORMY SEAS (J P van der Merwe), (distance 13,75 lengths, betting 14/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.	
f)	TUSCAN GOLD (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

Jockey	S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on DARK TIDE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer F Bronkhorst. Jockey S Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.
