THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NATIONAL STAR (S Moodley) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) ACACIA'S BLOSSOM (C Maujean) raced wide around the latter part of the turn and into the straight. b) Leaving the 200m MVULAZANA (K Matsunyane) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of MORGAN LA FAY (M Yeni) which rolled in marginally. c) KAILENE (*R A Venniker) and STRANGE MAGIC (S Khumalo) raced in close proximity over the final 300m. d) Apprentice B Plaatjies (AISLING) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. e) In view of the performances of NATIONAL STAR (S Moodley) (3.25 lengths, 15/2 in the betting) and TOTO (T Godden) (4.60 lengths, 13/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) SLEEK AS SILK (* K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
