THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAVANTRIX (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The paramedics had to attend to the driver of one of the horse floats which was involved in an incident in the loading area, causing a slight delay to the start. b) Shortly after the start SAVANTRIX (C Zackey) was steadied when close to the heels of ICY BLAST (R Fourie). c) Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on PORQUE TE VAS. Jockey G van Niekerk signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00. d) OCTOBER MORN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (WM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) G van Niekerk (PORQUE TE VAS) rode +1kg (55.4kgs) of which 0.5kg was declared at 09h11 on 20231017 b) G Wright rode BLUFF ON BLUFF (declared 16h50 on 20231021) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS SCRATCHED: a) EXCHANGE STUDENT - under veterinary treatment.
