THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	KING'S RANSOM (G Wright) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls.
b)	LE LEGIONNAIRE (B Fayd'Herbe) and DIRECTOR'S CUT (C Zackey) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At the 250m STEADFAST (R Fourie) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of RAPIDASH (C Bantam), which was hanging in, shifted in and was immediately straightened.
b) 	At the 150m LE LEGIONNAIRE (B Fayd'Herbe) had to be steadied away from the heels of QUERANDI (R Danielson) when carried outwards by FAIRE ADVANTAGE (C Orffer), which shifted out and was immediately straightened.
c)	Jockey C Zackey reported that DIRECTOR'S CUT choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.	
d)	In view of the performance of STEADFAST (R Fourie) (Betting 4/1; Distance 10.15 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
e)	Trainer GS Kotzen was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner of QUERANDI. Trainer GS Kotzen signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning.
f)	PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised. (WM)
