THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	TWO MILES WEST (P Mxoli) was stubborn loading.
b)	HAT MAN (*M K Katjedi), MID WINTER WIND (R Fourie), STELLAR FELLA (J Gates) and TO THE RESCUE (*D B Geerthsen) were slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	TO THE RESCUE (*D B Geerthsen), after being slow away, raced detached from the field, thereafter in response to Apprentice Geerthsen's urgings, made up ground on the field and was switched in in the concluding stages to avoid running onto the heels of KNOCKEMSTIFF (C Maujean).
b)	MAMALO (B Nyawo) hung in throughout, proving difficult to assist. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. 
Trainer B B Ruiters was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve MAMALO'S racing manners.
c)	STELLAR FELLA (J Gates) took a number of awkward strides in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey J Gates reported that STELLAR FELLA did not stride out freely in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. 	
d)	Jockey B Fayd'Herbe reported that SECRET CHORD made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. 	
e)	SAN SIMON (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
Stable Employee M Boya was advised (MS). 	
	
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	MR BLUE FLAME was ridden by Jockey	K A Brewer (declared 23 October 2023 at 10H05).
