THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE ABDICATOR (IRE) (C Zackey) was stubborn loading and had to be loaded without the rider, causing a delay. b) JEWEL CAT (L Mxothwa) reared repeatedly in the stalls and had to be hooded. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 800m THE ABDICATOR (IRE) (C Zackey) and YAMADORI (G van Niekerk), which was hanging out on the turn, brushed. b) YAMADORI (G van Niekerk) was directed inwards and into clear running leaving the 300m. c) Approaching the 100m UNDERWORLD (G Lerena) was momentarily held up and had to be directed outwards when close to the heels of a tiring THE ABDICATOR (IRE) (C Zackey). d) Jockey C Zackey reported that THE ABDICATOR (IRE) did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding THE ABDICATOR (IRE) (C Zackey), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 30/10/2023 to 05/11/2023 inclusive). THE ABDICATOR (IRE) may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding JEWEL CAT (L Mxothwa), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 30/10/2023 to 05/11/2023 inclusive).
