THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUGAR BLAST (S Moodley) was stubborn to load. Thereafter SUGAR BLAST (S Moodley) was restless in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. Trainer M N Prinsloo was advised to re-school this gelding (SN). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RODRIGUEZ (*N Nastili) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) CHEROKEE TRAIL (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R A Hill advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Apprentice K J Lihaba (LET THE FLAG FLY) weighed out at 52.7kg and was only able to claim 1.5kgs of his 2kg carded allowance.
