THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ICE CAP (*D B Geerthsen) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) HIGGLEDY PIGGLEDY (K Matsunyane) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) VOSHAARNOOI (C Zackey) and MARIESKOP (M Yeni) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, SUKHUMVIT (K A Brewer) was bumped out by HIGGLEDY PIGGLEDY (K Matsunyane), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. As a consequence of this, the breast plate on SUKHUMVIT (K A Brewer) became partially detached. b) Shortly after the start, Jockey P Mxoli (DARLING HARBOUR) briefly lost the footing to the left-side stirrup iron. c) Apprentice R A Venniker reported that she felt something amiss with SILKY JET in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) BEATING WINGS (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J van der Bank, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) ICE CAP was ridden by Apprentice D B Geerthsen (declared 11 December 2023 at 10H27). b) IM A BLONDIE was ridden by Apprentice M K Katjedi (declared 12 December 2023 at 07H09).
