THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROY'S RUFFIAN (J Gates) was stubborn to load. Lost 1 length. b) MADISON VALLEY (S Moodley) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RUN TO RIO (S Veale) stumbled badly leaving the starting stalls and thereafter lost ground to the field. b) Shortly after entering the straight LASHLAROO (M Yeni) was switched to the outside of GORGEOUS GUY (S Khumalo) to obtain a clear run. c) Jockey M Thackeray (SUMMER SHADE) reported that his saddle slipped back in the running. This was confirmed by the video evidence. d) Jockey C Habib reported that CAPPELLINO changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jocky C F Dicken reported that he felt something amiss in the running with RAFINO and as a result did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) LASHLAROO (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Robinson advised (DZ).
