Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue-tie on VERONIQUE (R Fourie) was re-fitted at the start. b) KELP FOREST (G Wright) and SHIFTING PATH (A Andrews) were restless in the stalls. c) WARM WINTER NITE (M Winnaar) jumped slow, losing one length. d) MIGHTY MAC (B Fayd'Herbe) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 300m VERONIQUE (R Fourie) had to be steadied when close to the heels of KELP FOREST (G Wright), which was directed to the outside of MR FROSTIE (J Solomons) to secure clear running. Jockey G Wright appeared before the Board and was advised to exercise more care when allowing his mounts to shift ground in similar circumstances. b) Between the 100m and the finish, MR FROSTIE (J Solomons) and KELP FOREST (G Wright) were carried outwards by MIGHTY MAC (B Fayd'Herbe), which continually shifted outwards. An Inquiry will be held into this incident. c) MR FROSTIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PD Reeves was advised.
