Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, CERULEAN DANCER (M Yeni) kicked the back gates, resulting in KINGS ROAD (*T Mayhew) becoming restless and breaking through. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, CERULEAN DANCER (M Yeni) and TWICE THE STORM (C Zackey), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, came together and bumped. Simultaneously, TWICE AS WILD (P Mxoli) and KALAHARI BLUE (G Lerena), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, came together and bumped. b) Apprentice T Mayhew (KINGS ROAD) did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter, Apprentice T Mayhew reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Trainer G J Maroun was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.3 in that he failed to vaccinate KITTYBOYS GIRL against African Horse sickness in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Assistant Trainer M Khan, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1000 was imposed. Trainer G J Maroun was advised that KITTYBOYS GIRL may not be nominated for any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority until fully vaccinated against African Horse Sickness. d) FULLY LOADED (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) JET CAT: Jockey Wes Marwing weighed out at 54,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) KITTYBOYS GIRL was carded to race with a tongue tie on (declared 1 January 2024 at 20H30). b) MARIACHI MADNESS raced equipped with blinkers (declared 2 January 2024 at 03H44). c) FAST DUTY raced without blinkers (declared 2 January 2024 at 05H29). d) KALAHARI BLUE raced without a compression mask, blinkers and ear muffs (declared 2 January 2024 at 08H33).
